Bootloader prevents users to root their phones, install roms or Custom Recovery tools. In this article, we will explain how to unlock Bootloader for some of LG mobile phones. LG Bootloader Unlock

One of the reasons why people choose Android phones is that users can easily optimize it as they wish. However, this might be a problem for phone manufacturers because if people apply any hardware changes on custom rom loaded devices, it may cause the device to have some serious hardware or software problems. For this reason, device manufacturers use bootloader locks to prevent any changes or modifications to avoid problems.

WARNING: Before starting this process, make sure that the device has more than %50 battery energy and you have made a backup for all of your documents. After you unlock bootloader, the device will reset everything. If you start this process, you accept the responsibility.

Download and install the programs given below to your computer:

LG Mobile Driver > Download
adb-setup > Download

Press on “Y” key on keyboard when warnings pop up while installing Adp-setup program and then press ENTER key to finish the installing process.

How to Unlock LG Bootloader

Step 1: Dial *#06# on your mobile phone or simply leave the battery to find out device’s IMEI number and save it on a notepad.

Step 2: Open developer options:

1. Go to Settings > About Device > Software Information to enable Developer Options.
2. Click on Build Number section 5-6 times repeatedly until you see “You are now a developer”
3. Then go back to Developer Options and enable OEM Unlocking and USB Debugging

Step 3: Press Win+R keys at the same time and type “cmd.exe” on the window and press ENTER key. Connect your mobile phone to your computer and make sure that phone is not locked. Then, copy the code given below and paste it by right clicking. After that, press ENTER key and if a warning appears as “Enable USB Debugging?”, select “Always Allow on This PC” option and press OK key.

Step 4: After copy pasting the code and pressing Enter key, it will activate bootloader mode. At this point, you should write the code given below and press ENTER key.

Step 5: You will see a notification like the one given below on Adb window. This is our Unlock Key to unlock the bootloader.

Step 6: Open a notepad. As you can see the bootloader code is 2 lines one under the other. Make it one single line which means add the codes end to end. The first line will be at the beginning, the second will be at the end. So, basically we will have a single line code like the one below..

How to Get Unlock.bin File from LG-Developer

Step 7: Click here to visit LG Developer website and sign up (Use your current email because you will be sent a document to the email that you register with) or login here if you already have account.

Step 8: After logging in, visit this page. Click on Starting Unlocking the Bootloader button on the page and select your device’s model. Write the IMEI code that you noted before to IMEI blank. Then, paste Unlock Key to ID blank and press Confirm. They will send Unlock.bin to your email.

Step 9: Download the Unlock.bin file from your email to your computer and drop it to Adb file. Let’s say our adb file is on Local Disc C:/adb. So we need to drop it there.

How to Install Unlock.bin to Your Phone

Step 10: Press Win + R at the same time and type “cmd.exe” on the window. Then paste the code given below to the window and press ENTER key.

Step 11: It will install Unlock.bin file to your device and unlock Bootloader. At this point, you need to copy paste the code given below to black window and press ENTER key. It will start your device. LG Bootloader Unlock is successfully unlocked.

After unlocking the bootloader, you will see a warning as “your device software can’t be checked for corruption” on the loading screen. This implies that the device does no longer have warranty protection.
